Awareness Events

China was granted the right to host the Olympic Games after it pledged to adhere to the Olympic Charter and improve its human rights record. Instead, its human rights abuses have worsened. In response, the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG) organized the Human Rights Torch Relay, a year long, international effort to bring to light the Chinese Communist Party (CCP’s) human rights violations affecting Uighurs; Tibetan Budhists; Christians; rights activists; lawyers; reporters; the oppressed people of Sudan, Burma, Zimbabwe, North Korea; and Falun Gong practitioners, among many other groups and individuals.

All over the world, people are walking, running, singing, biking, dancing, flying kites, speaking and reaching out to the public in any way possible to raise awareness of China’s human rights crimes, and telling its leaders to stop.

All interested organizations and individuals are encouraged to join.
